For Freebies, are do doing Expdenditures for Abilities/Attributes/Virtues/Background costs via OKC?

Unless they snuck in a change to freebies/xp costs in V20 that should be standard cost scheme. Only actual change on OKC was Generation cost.

Still trying to get a handle of who I would like to play. Seems like we have our Social goddess here, and our Mental Investigator, so perhaps I will take the place of the Physical meat shield.

I've got no issue with a meatshield if you want to play one, but it's not necessary for a CoC game.

Combat is possible but not really something that we need a dedicated character for.

Totally up to you though friend.

You're not holding us up at all, mate, Farris is still building and I'm happy to tinker away until the party is built to suit.

"Social goddess" seems unnecessarily high praise for someone with Charisma 2 and Leadership 1. We both made investigator types, just from slightly different angles.
...could build a social goddess by really cranking up the femme fatale tropes, but we're supposed to cooperate Wink

Without worrying about what balances the party, what do you want to play?

Yoooookay, so since I'm terrible at planning or writing for this stuff past general outlines and the like, I think, once you all are good to go with characters that we can get a start on this debacle.

I don't need or expect a detailed character background, and I'm going to be way less stringent on details of Backgrounds as I was with OKCbN.

As long as you guys know who your characters are and their motivations and what not, I'm good with them. (what is this TRUSTING players?!?)

The big set of details that I DO need from you all is which of the 4 "employers" has called you into the story and why.

ALSO! This is not meant to rush anyone that's still not settled on their character concept or sheet. Just saying that more prep time on my part will more likely result in vidya games than actual pen to paper plot development. Cool

Logan will be working with the Law Firm, making sure that the inheritors of March's last will and testament don't have anything to do with his sudden demise.

The Pastor will of course have been sent by The Prophetic Baptist Assembly to look after the black community in preparation for retaliation in wake of the murder.

Though he may not believe the message whole-heatedly himself, Pastor Johnson has made a career out of inspiring passions in others that he does not wholly feel himself, and his radio show has been a continuous broadcast of the importance of patience and brotherhood ever since it was first allowed on air by its gracious (though hidden) white backers. Besides, a new congregation may do the Pastor some good, or at least some distance from his current flock and the suspicions they have brought forward that the stocks of communion wine should need not be replenished so often as under his watch.
